Vi riporto la mail che mi hanno scritto qualche giorno fa per quanto riguarda la legge che entrerà in vigore come da titolo del post.
Ciao.
Dear Giuliano,
Thank you for your interest in New York Habitat. My name is Christophe and I look forward to working with you to find the best possible accommodation for your stay in New York for your stay from 12-26-11 to 01-04-12.
I do not know if you heard the latest news, but we found out that a new law regulating vacation rentals is scheduled to take effect in New York City on May 1, 2011.
While this new law will ban the renting of apartments that do not hold a hotel license for rentals of less than 30 days duration, there are still alternate short-term accommodation options that will be available after May 2011.
In preparation for this new change, for all bookings scheduled to arrive after May 1, 2011, New York Habitat will be offering short-term accommodations that fit within the guidelines of the new law, including B&B (Bed and Breakfast) rooms and accommodations in apartment hotels with kitchenettes.
If you have your heart set on renting one of our vacation rental apartments in New York City, please remember, there are still some time ahead of us between now and May 1, 2011 (the effective date of the law), and a lot can change in that time (and we hope it will). In the meantime, we are adding more accommodations with the requisite hotel licenses to our inventory. We urge you to continue to check for any important updates and changes in the new law at:
http://protect-vacation-rentals.com/Also we are currently working very hard on the apartments we have that will NOT be affected by the new law. We will be able to provide you a list of these apartments within the next few weeks (say from early March). But as you can imagine, it takes a whole team of people and lots of research to know which apartments will be exempt from the new law.
NOW, if you contact other companies and they tell you that they are ready to rent you an apartment now for your dates, make sure you bring to their attention that there is a new Law and if they are aware of it. We, at New York Habitat, are proud to do things the right way, in accordance with the law in place, so that you will be able to secure an apartment without having to worry about it.
I truly hope that you will be a little patient, and I will get back to you soon.
Thank you and have a great day.
Best regards,
Christophe.
